Room. We were given an upgrade. Early check-in. Spacious room with super-king bed and all the facilities we needed

Fabulous location. Able to leave luggage while out and about

Boiler work being done so no hot water for 12 hours. I understand this had to be done but felt a little discount should have been offered.

Clean and well equiped room. Breakfast was amazing and well prepared and presented. Staff was friendly and helpfull. Great Location in the midst of London's central attractions. Close to the underground and Bus route which made coming and going very easy.

Very friendly helpful staff who could not have been more lovely. Leant us umbrellas and sorted all our questions. There was a wonderful breakfast and a great room.

Sadly, although it was a great location, we were moved from the hotel we had booked (Leicester Sq) even though we'd paid in advance. We'd also paid extra for a deluxe room, so we don't know what the rooms were like compared to the ones in the original booking. We weren't able to 'open any windows', which was a little unsettling.

Location was fantastic if wanting to be in the heart of West End ( which we did) - very close to Piccadilly (and Leicester) tube stations, easily accessible from Heathrow and everywhere. No lifts at Piccadilly Station - be aware if carrying large items, little kids, prams from airport ( we each had one large suitcase only plus backpacks, so managed fine). Room was well soundproofed from street noise, bed very comfortable, cupboard / hangers, good lifts, safety deposit box- all positives. We didn’t have breakfast there so cannot comment. The gym was compact but looked to have the key things you’d need - but as we were walking so much each day, I did not use it ( despite thinking I might). It was good to have as an option if needed.

The bathroom products were ok but could have been a bit more generous, relative to price/ quality of hotel. We were advised on booking in ( about 8.50pm) that there would be no hot water till 9.00 am next day due to plumbers attending - but they had a contingency arrangement with another hotel ( we didn’t need) and true to their word, things were fine by 9.00 am. next morning.

Breakfast was good, there were fresh fruit and veg as well as pastries, eggs, sausages and yogurt. We love the location, this is the hotel we usually stay in and this is the main reason. The hotel staff are very nice and very helpful.

We had room 405 this time, we did not like it very much. Room 405 is a junior Suite which means it is meant for 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children (the foldout sofa is not big enough for more). In terms of storage - there is enough only for 1 person. In terms of the bathroom - it is designed to work for 2 people. the bathroom was small and there were only 3 towel racks (1 for hand towel and 2 for the robes), we are a family of 4 - and in a room that accommodates 4 there should be enough towel racks. In previous visits we also had a towel warming rack, it was missing in this room. As we had nowhere to hang our towels to dry we had to keep changing them every day. As for storage - we have no place to put our clothes, only 2 small drawers and a hanging closet for our jackets. Once again - we are a family of 4, we stayed for 5 nights and lived off our suitcases. not at all comfortable. One last thing - usually this hotel is VERY clean, but this time my allergies broke out. This happened every night. It usually means the room is full of dust. We did not complain, as we did not spend much time in our room and did not want to waist time on room changing (London too beautiful to miss one moment), and usually the rooms we stayed in were great. We expected the standard to be kept in all rooms. We stayed in this hotel many times before, always a good experience. we were disappointed this time by our room.

We were especially impressed with the hotel staff. They were all very friendly and one gentleman was particularly helpful when we needed to book a taxi for the airport on our day of departure. We were also impressed with the sound proofing of the rooms despite being in the heart of the city's nightlife.

Excellent location in the centre of everything. Rooms are super quiet. Breakfast is good.

Room was reasonably spacious, ie the super king rooms. Very close to Leicester Square, Piccadilly and Trafalgar Square but extremely quiet hotel. No noise at all in the room.

Great location, room was clean and comfortable although, as with most central London hotels, the room was very cosy.

The cost - a lot for a small room. Try and avoid an adjoining room as the interconnecting doors are not fully sound proof - either that or the couple next door must have been deaf given the clarity of their conversation. Why no tea/coffee making? Maybe its to 'encourage' you to use the very expensive room service but having our own would be better and what is usually expected.

Room was adequate size with a comfortable bed and nice shower. Location was perfect for walking the city or getting the underground. Staff were helpful.

We could hear the activity from Leicester square in the evening. We're in our 70s and would have preferred a quieter location. The Thistle has a newer hotel just a couple blocks from this one in a quieter area.
